Our Mission

MISSION

The mission of Kids Parliament is to build a community of children where they can meet each other, exchange ideas, understand and respect each other’s opinions, and experience multicultural views in a moderated and peaceful way. Based on two themes, "the world we live in" and "the world we want," we invite children from around the world to create and exchange cultural art forms and ideas and put them into practice in pursuit of a more peaceful, just and compassionate world.

Kids Parliament also aims to:

• Provide a forum where children can agree on “the world they want” (via a dialogue process) and how to build it.
• Directly contribute to the implementation of the agreed-upon ideas and initiatives.
• Provide resources to implement initiatives that serve the interests of children.
• Unify the most important private and public players to synchronize and use synergies of existing programs and create a more efficient system to implement this initiative.

All principles and activities must be in line with the respective principles of:
United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (especially Articles 19, 26(2), 27(1))
United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (especially Articles 13(1), 28(3), 29(1d/e), 31(2), 39

VISION

To live in a world where children want to live, where respect for human rights is a mandate, where equality is a birthright, and where talent and entrepreneurial spirit are supported.

To live in a world where:

• Faith in fundamental human rights and belief in the dignity and worth of the human person are the most important values.
• All children have equal chances – regardless of where in the world they were born.
• Earth's greatest treasure lies in the human personality.
• All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law.
• Service to humanity is the noblest work of life.
• The brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations.
• Economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise.

Key Objectives

• Teach the value of intercultural dialogue and well-being, and provide key values (charity, environment)
• Set up kid exchange program
• Foster entrepreneurship
• Develop programs for the disabled
• Provide free on-line learning content
• Provide best practice programs for governments
